Candidate for Congress
Aaron Baker is a proud Floridian, born in the vibrant city of Lakeland and now calling Sorrento home. As a partner in a thriving general contracting business based in Eustis, Florida, Aaron has built a reputation as a hardworking, results-driven leader with a deep commitment to improving the communities he serves. His journey from a hands-on entrepreneur to an emerging voice in Florida politics reflects his unwavering dedication to fostering economic growth, opportunity, and prosperity for the people of Florida’s 6th Congressional District.
Growing up on a 160-acre farm in rural Greenville, Kentucky, Aaron developed a strong work ethic and an appreciation for the values that define him to this day: family, community, and resilience. These roots shaped his approach to business and leadership, where he has consistently prioritized collaboration, integrity, and innovation. As a partner in his general contracting firm, Aaron has overseen projects that strengthen the community and create local jobs, earning him respect as a pragmatic problem-solver who understands the needs of working families and small businesses.
Aaron attended The University of Kentucky after graduating from public schools in Kentucky. Shortly thereafter, he dropped out to pursue his own business. Aaron grew up in a family business which started in 1967 and is still in operation today. Having his first business at the age of 15 — selling shaved ice at a roadside stand in Greenville — Aaron quickly learned about payroll taxes, employees, health department codes, and managing inventory. After college, Aaron started buying, restoring, and selling antique jukeboxes in Maryland. After years of driving all over the country and even across Canada, the once thriving collectibles began to dry up. Aaron worked for Home Depot for about a year before going to work for a general contractor. After many years of constantly winning top salesman awards, COVID hit.
Aaron realized the United States was at a critical turning point. Maryland was now requiring vaccine cards to visit some restaurants and travel. His home state of Florida was open for business. In frequent communication with his father who is the comptroller for a local roofing company in Florida, Aaron saw the opportunity to move back to Florida and he took it. Aaron is now business partners with a residential contractor in Eustis — specializing in additions and remodeling.
While waiting for Hurricane Milton to make landfall in Florida in 2024, Aaron ran across a post from Scott Pressler of Early Vote Action. Not buying into the media hype that Florida had the potential to be a “purple state,” Aaron turned his attention to the road to 270 and firmly believed it involved Pennsylvania. Early Vote Action is a grassroots organization focused on mobilizing voters and promoting early voting to strengthen civic participation. Leveraging his commitment to empowering communities, Aaron took full advantage of his favorite Florida based Spirit Airlines, his Maryland connections and actively supported the group’s on the ground efforts to educate Pennsylvania residents about the importance of early voting, helping to ensure that their voices are heard in the electoral process. His involvement underscores his dedication to fostering transparent and accessible elections, particularly in key battleground areas, where he has worked to connect with voters and promote turnout. Through his collaboration with Early Vote Action, Aaron demonstrates his broader mission to enhance democratic engagement and advocate for policies that reflect the will of the people.
In late 2024, Aaron made the unexpected but resolute decision to step into the political arena, driven by a passion to address the challenges facing Florida’s 6th Congressional District. Recognizing the district’s unique position near the Space Coast—a hub of innovation and opportunity—Aaron saw an chance to advocate for policies that attract high-paying jobs, support new industries, and elevate the region’s economic potential. His platform, grounded in “America First” principles, emphasizes practical solutions to create a thriving economy, improve infrastructure, and ensure that the voices of everyday Floridians are heard in Washington.
Aaron’s vision for the 6th Congressional District is bold yet grounded in his real-world experience. He believes in leveraging the district’s proximity to the Space Coast to drive investment in technology, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing, creating opportunities for the next generation of Floridians. His commitment to economic growth is matched by his dedication to preserving the values that make Central Florida special—strong communities, safe neighborhoods, and access to quality education and healthcare.
Beyond his professional and political endeavors, Aaron is deeply connected to the people and places of Central Florida. Living in Sorrento, he cherishes the small-town charm and natural beauty of the region, from the rolling hills of Lake County to the bustling energy of the nearby beaches he grew up frequenting. His hands-on approach to leadership is informed by the countless conversations he’s had with residents, business owners, and community leaders across the district, giving him a clear understanding of their hopes and challenges.
Aaron Baker is not a career politician—he’s a Floridian who stepped up to serve because he believes in the potential of his community and the power of principled leadership. With a focus on economic opportunity, local representation, and a brighter future for Florida’s 6th Congressional District, Aaron is ready to bring his energy, experience, and dedication to the national stage, ensuring that Central Florida remains a place where families and businesses can thrive for generations to come.
