687: The COVID Mask Delusion - Revealing the MYTHS Surrounding Mask Mandates

Unveiling the TRUTH behind the COVID mask delusion

Are you tired of conflicting information about masks and their effectiveness in preventing the spread of respiratory illnesses? Look no further than The Brian Nichols Show! For 3 years, we have been questioning the mainstream narrative and challenging the consensus, and now scientific studies are backing up their claims.

Join host Brian Nichols as he dives into the science behind mask mandates and discusses how dissenting viewpoints are essential to the scientific process. In a recent New York Times article, Oxford epidemiologist Tom Jefferson concluded that there is no evidence that masks make any difference and that the studies that initially persuaded policymakers to impose mask mandates were flawed observational studies. But why were we forced to wear masks for so long without concrete evidence of their effectiveness?

The Brian Nichols Show isn't afraid to ask the tough questions and challenge the mainstream experts and pundits who were wrong about mask mandates. From the Director of the CDC to conspiracy theorists and quack cure peddlers, the show covers it all. Tune in to The Brian Nichols Show and join the discussion today!

masking made zero difference when it came to COVID 19 outcomes. Yeah, let's talk about that. Instead of focusing on winning arguments, we're teaching the basic fundamentals of sales and marketing and how we can use them to win in the world of politics, teaching you how to meet people where they're at on the issues they care about. Welcome to The Brian Nichols Show. Well, Happy Wednesday there, folks, Brian Nichols here on The Brian Nichols Show. And thank you for joining us on a horse. Another fun filled episode. I am as always your humble host joining me live from our Stratus ip Studios here in lovely Eastern Indiana. Don't let cyber attacks or outdated Business Technology put your company at risk. We are now hearing even the corporate media starting to echo back. Yes, what we have been saying here on The Brian Nichols Show and in more Common Sense Media for three years plus, and that is no silly. Billy's masking is not going to protect you from the spread of a virus. We are not the one saying that. But the people you're heralding as scientific heroes were the ones saying that just a few short years earlier, folks like Anthony Fauci. Well, fast forward to today, as we record, the New York Times recently released a brand new article and they just addressed the elephant in the room that yes, in fact, masking does not work. So we're gonna go ahead and we're gonna read that article today. And I want to get your perspective, folks. So please, if you get some value from today's episode, join us down below, in the chat and in the comments. But here we're gonna kick things off. And it's this is from the New York Times, and this is from Brett Stevens. And it's called, yes, the mask mandates did nothing will any lessons be learned? And we're going to start things off here. And by the way, folks, we are are over on YouTube. So if you want to follow along on the video version, head over there. The most rigorous and comprehensive analysis of scientific studies conducted on the efficacy of masks for reducing the spread of respiratory illness, including COVID-19, was published published later this past month. Its conclusions, said Tom Jefferson, the Oxford epidemiologist who was the leading author or author were on ambiguous. There is just no evidence that they masks make any difference. He told the journalist Marianne DE MASSE full stop. But wait, hold on, what about those n 95? Masks, as opposed to the lower quality surgical or cloth masks? Makes no difference? None of it? Said Jefferson. Well, what about the studies that initially persuaded policymakers to impose mask mandates? They were convinced by non random nice studies, flawed observational studies. Okay, well, what about the utility of masks in conjunction with other preventative measures like height, hand hygiene, physical distancing, or air filtration? Quote, there is no evidence that many of these things make any difference. Pause really quick. What what did we just do for three years? Because apparently, there is no evidence, none. zero, zilch. That any of it. Any of it made any of the difference? No, not your virtue signaling mask wearing not you're screaming at me to stand in that dot that's six feet away from you in line, not the Plexiglas that you put in front of your cashiers, not you restaurants still forcing your your employees to mask while they're working. And how about you, you colleges who are still forcing your students to continue to get vaccinated, just to attend college? No evidence, None. Zero, that it made any of the difference? Think about that. The jobs lost, livelihoods completely changed friendships ruined. All for what? For nothing. For stuff that made zero difference going on. These observations don't come from just anywhere. Jefferson and 11 colleagues conducted the study for Cochrane, a British nonprofit is widely considered the gold standard for its reviews of health care data. The conclusions were based on 78 randomized controlled trials six of them during the COVID pandemic with a total of 610,872 participants in multiple countries. The end they tracked what has been widely observed in the united states, states with mass mandates fared no better against COVID than those without no study or study of studies is ever perfect scientists is absolutely science is never absolutely settled. What's more, the analysis does not prove that proper masks worn properly had no benefit at an individual level. But may people or the people may have good personal reasons to wear masks. And they may have the discipline to wear them consistently. Their choices are their own, but and this is where it is important when it comes to the population level benefits of masking. The verdict is in mask mandates or a bust. Those skeptics who are furiously mocked as cranks and occasionally censored occasionally, as misinformed errs for opposing mandates were right. The mainstream experts and pundits who supported mandates were wrong. In a better world, it would behoove the latter group to acknowledge their error along with they consider several physical, psychological penological and political costs. But don't count on in congressional testimony this month, are showing Linsky, the wonderful Director of the CDC, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention called into question the Cochrane Ella analysis reliance on the small number of COVID specific randomized controlled trials, and insisted that her agency's guidance on masking in schools wouldn't change. If she ever wondered why respect for the CDC keeps fall falling, she could look to herself and resign and leave it to someone else to reorganize her agency. But that too, probably won't happen. We no longer live in a culture in which resignation is seen as the honorable course for public officials who fail at their jobs. But the cost goes deeper. Because when people say they quote, trust the science, what they presumably mean is that the science is rational, empirical, rigorous, receptive to new information, sensitive to competing concerns and risks, but also is humble, transparent, open to criticism, honest about what it doesn't know. And willing to admit. Error. Nope. Guess who didn't do that over the past three years? Yeah, that was not science. That was and that is science. But what we saw the science TM trademark that we were told to trust that was promoted and perpetuated by government bureaucrats and experts, those who are actually earning all their funds from government, the government dole, be it through the means of donations, donations, air quotes, or funding and grants. But this right here, this speaks to why so many of us were just so frustrated over the past three years, because it wasn't science. You weren't allowed to question it. You weren't allowed to challenge it. You were shut down. You're censored. And you were called the conspiracy theorists, you were told that you wanted people to die, that your ideas were dangerous, whose ideas are dangerous? How about the people who shut down society, destroyed families, destroyed livelihoods, crippled businesses and economies? Mental health for generations, completely destroyed? Learning disabilities for younger generations on the rise? Academics just absolutely plummeting across the board. Who was really doing the dangerous stuff who was promoting the dangerous ideas going forward? But the cost goes deeper. Yes. When people say trust design science, Oh, yes. We said that the CDC is increasingly mindless adherence to its mask and guidance is none of those things. It is isn't merely undermining the trust it requires to operate as an effective public institution. It is turning itself into an unwitting accomplice to the genuine enemies of reason in science, conspiracy theorists and quack cure peddlers by so badly representing the values and practices that science is supposed to exemplify. It also betrays the technocratic mindset that has an unpleasant habit of assuming that nothing is ever wrong with the bureaucracies well laid plans provided that nobody gets in its way. Nobody has a dissenting viewpoint. And everyone does exactly what it asks as long as and for as long as the officialdom demands. This is the mentality that once believed that China provided a highly successful model for the pandemic response in their authoritarian lockdown. Yet there was never a chance that mask mandates the United States would get anywhere close to 100% compliance or that people would or could wear masks in a way that would meaningfully reduce transmission. Part of the reason is specific to American habits and culture. Part of it due to constitutional limits on the government power, part of it due to human nature and part of it due to the competing social and economic necessities, and part of it due to the evolution of the virus itself. But whatever the reason, mask mandates were a fool's errand from the start, they may have created a false sense of safety and thus permission to resume a semi normal life. They did almost nothing to advance safety itself and the Cochrane report ought to be the final nail in this particular coffin.

There's a final lesson that the glass justification for the masks is that even if they put But it proved to be ineffective. They seemed like a relatively low cost intuitively effective, and intuitively effective way of doing something against the virus in the early days of the pandemic, but do something is not science. Let me repeat, do something is not science, and it should not have been public policy. And the people who have had the courage to say as much deserve to be listened to not treated with contempt. They may not ever get the apology they deserve, but vindication ought to be enough. So that was over at the New York Times can't believe I'm actually able to read this article, we'll be getting nuked on YouTubes we'll see, I hope not, because it's actually in the corporate media at this point where people are saying the truth, the thing that we've been saying for three years now, I'm sorry, it's taken some of you this long to catch up and get up to speed. Now, I usually start my show saying yes, I am, in fact, the humble host. But today, I will sit here on behalf of all others, that you have. So royally screwed over the past three years and say, we told you so. We told you so we were right. You didn't listen, you did this. This is your fault. Own it. That's where we're at. Like, there is not going to be any reconciliation, no, pandemic amnesty, as we talked about on episode of yesteryear. But we have to truly look at this and acknowledge what happened. Half of the society was completely brainwashed and followed like little sheep. Another half the society actually stood up and said something's wrong. And the the first half that was trying to force the other half to jump on board, or in this case to jump off the cliff. There were the ones who were wrong. And now they're trying to get us to be like, Hey, guys, it's okay. Now we're, yeah, we're just not gonna acknowledge we were wrong, but you know, we were gone. On it. Y'all were so excited to force people to get vaccine mandates, otherwise, you lose their jobs. You were so excited to force people to mask you are so excited to put all these different measures in place to shut down businesses to shut down schools. Where's the excitement now to defend what you were so openly happy to defend? A three short years ago? Brian, the science changed. No, it didn't. The science didn't change. What changed? Was your ability to be rational and to think critically. That's what changed. Trust the science. No, you trusted the television. That's what you did. So I'm sorry, that got a little aggressive today. But it's on us, I think to make sure that we set this narrative straight. What do we talk about during the show? We set narratives we do not respond to narratives. And I'm tired of seeing folks respond to narratives. Yeah, well, masks, no, no. Masks didn't work. End of story. Full stop, stop this nonsense. Next time you go to the doctor's office, and they're trying to force you to wear a mask, you say, No, I'm not gonna do it. And if that doctor says you need to wear a mask, you find a different doctor. Enough. This does not stop until we say it does. And we're at the point now this is part of the mainstream conversation, and we're still having people perpetuate the insanity. Now. So if you agree with me, and you're willing to take a step and try to stop the insanity, please go ahead and share today's episode when you do tag yours truly at be Nichols liberty. Otherwise, I will go ahead and see all of you on an episode I'm sharing right here it was my rant and rave about pandemic Anesti. Should we have a pandemic Annecy? I think you'll guess by today's conversation, my answer is pretty darn clear. Otherwise, join us over on the podcast version of the show.
