809: Did We Cure Cancer & No One Notice?

This investigative journalist reveals how natural metabolic therapies may effectively treat cancer's root causes yet remain suppressed by profit-driven forces blocking real progress.

Have you ever wondered if there are alternative cancer therapies beyond just chemo, radiation and surgery? What if tools existed that could actually treat or even cure cancers without the often harsh side effects of conventional approaches?

On today's episode of The Brian Nichols Show, Brian interviews filmmaker and investigative journalist Megan Smith about her eye-opening research into possibly effective yet rarely used cancer therapies. After losing her husband to cancer and feeling his chemo treatment did more harm than good, Megan set out to uncover suppressed treatments that get to the root metabolic causes of cancer instead of just attacking cell DNA.

The conversation exposes how natural substances like laetrile (B17) and innovative technologies like Dr. Burzynski’s anti-neoplastons have shown incredible results reversing late-stage cancers, even though they’ve faced massive legal and regulatory pushback. Megan also breaks down the strong connection between diet, environment, stress levels and cancer risk - explaining easy things we can all start doing today to clean up our lives and better prevent oncological diseases.

Throughout the discussion, Megan emphasizes that many cancer alternatives focus on oxygenation, sugar reduction, detoxing and supporting mitochondria - whereas mainstream therapies often make patients sicker in the process. Her passion comes from a desire to provide fellow cancer sufferers and their families the hope and healing options her late husband never received.

All right, we're going from heart health to other ailments and how do we take care of them. When we've been fed forced this our force fed that is this approach to medicine, which seems to be dealing a lot more with symptoms versus actually addressing the root causes of problems. And with that, a lot of folks just throwing their hands up saying I don't really trust the Big Pharma, big medicine systems that are out there. And yet there are alternatives in the marketplace that are now starting to make their way into the healthcare sector and actually having some real, tangible differences, especially when it comes to outcomes. We're talking about cancer and other very debilitating diseases. So let's talk about that. And more joining us to do that. Megan Smith joining us here in The Brian Nichols Show. Meghan Welcome. How

Megan Smith
are you? Hi, I'm fine. Thanks, Brian. Thanks for having me.

Brian Nichols
Absolutely. Great to have you on the show. And we're looking forward to not only discussing all these different therapies, but also we're going to discuss a brand new Docu series that you have out a new standard of care, alternative cancer therapies. Meg, and before we get there, do us a favor, let's maybe give a quick introduction into who you are. But why this focus on alternative therapies when it comes to specifically the world of cancer. So

Megan Smith
I contracted late Lyme disease in 2007. And a year later, my husband contracted cancer, and I had cured myself with the chronic Lyme and I knew that I cured myself with a Rife machine ri fe. And he tried it on himself. It was working. But he said I have to follow the white coat. I don't I don't understand this technology. So he did and you know, within six months he was gone. I feel that the the chemotherapy was what determine not the cancer. And so I got on a tear about six years later I said I know these things work. I saw Ty Bollinger is great series on the truth about cancer. And so I grabbed a cameraman and went all over the world, Europe, Mexico, the US and filmed doctors and patients and did a deep dive into the medical literature. And I tell this, it's an all encompassing film. It's about four hours and 45 minutes. And it talks about what we're doing today. What we could be doing with the alternatives and what is working and patient stories, and also why they're not being used. So it's a one stop shop for cancer. Well,

Brian Nichols
and let's kind of rewind here too. I think everybody listening in the audience can relate right we all have experienced or know of someone either in our immediate circle in our family who has faced cancer. And unfortunately, I know there's a lot of us who they've also experienced what happens when someone passes from cancer. And it's it's maddening. Megan, when you think that? Well, there's only one course of action to take. And it's, as you mentioned through this white coat approach, whereas to the truth to what you want to bring up today is that there quite actually are a number of therapies and alternatives out there in the marketplace. And it's not so much that they don't work that they're not recommended, but they don't fit the accepted way of doing things through our big pharma, big medicine perspective. So I would love for you maybe dig into what pushback you're seeing. And frankly, as you're bringing these new alternatives to to folks who are suffering, and looking for anything out there to help them as they're facing their struggles, what was the feedback from them?

Megan Smith
So my friends who have watched the film, actually, who are conventional, medical medicine minded, they, they've changed their minds. So whatever I said in this film, I wasn't sure if I was gonna be able to convince people, but that's really telling to me. And people don't want to believe that the government and our doctors are telling us bad things, you know, but what we learned during the pandemic was, sometimes you got to call a duck a duck, if it quacks like a duck. So yeah, so anyway, it's hard to convince people, but if they watch my film, all the literature is right there. I just decided, if I don't put the literature in, they can just come back and say, Oh, this is a bunch of quackery. So I think I prove it pretty airtight. And I also tell stories. So it's not like just talking heads, you got all these characters and fun people even laugh once in a while. And yeah, did that. So yeah,

Brian Nichols
let's maybe dig through then some of these alternative therapies, because I know the audience. They're listening that and by the way, folks, we're not going to give away the farm today. There's an entire convention for our think you said documentary here to dig through. So link will be in the show notes. Please go ahead and check this out. But let's kind of walk through Megan, what you were seeing as you're going through and doing this this data digging? What are some of these alternative therapies that maybe folks aren't familiar with, frankly, because they aren't mainstream.

Megan Smith
So I noticed that these doctors that were reversing cancer had a whole different philosophy they're using one of the things is it's real basic for cancer patients to understand cancer loves sugar, and hates oxygen. So a lot of the therapies that these doctors were using or going into the metabolic problems of the mitochondria, they're looking at the mitochondria instead of the DNA, because chemo just attacks the DNA in the cell and all the other cells in your body versus going after them, what's the mitochondrial dysfunction. And so you know, anything with oxygen in it, hyperbaric chamber, hydrogen peroxide, in some instances, all kinds of things, and they teach their patients how to stop eating sugar start, you know, clean up your diet, your air, your water, because all that stuff has toxins in it. And then there's some things that there are some silver bullets. I mean, you've probably heard lay a triple B 17. IV, it's a lot of these doctors are using, although it's been outlawed largely in the US and the EU now, so you can find it down in Mexico. But there's a couple of silver bullets. There's a gentleman sorry, you wanted to say something?

Brian Nichols
Just, it's outlawed even though it works? Yes.

Megan Smith
Yeah. Sloan Sloan Kettering. It was working. They knew it was working. The government knew it was working. There's evidence to that. And so they had Sloan Kettering do this big. There's documentaries on this. Eric Merola does one that they just dive in. And, you know, they through the trials, basically, they through the trials, they do that all the time, they skew the results, they you know, it's just it's terrible what they're doing. But there's there's others, there's some silver bullets. Dr. Burzynski, in Houston, if I had brain cancer, I'd get down to him. He's using antineoplastons That he invented. He's a brilliant Polish researcher and medical doctor, he's reversing brain cancers. And the FDA keeps going after and medical boards keep going after him and they cannot get rid of this guy because he always has like 30 people standing behind him patients that have had brain cancer for 2030 years, and it hasn't recurred. So the medical boards go we can't we can't take this guy's license away. He's He's curing cancer, and we're not. So it's very, it's very telling what's going on. We really dig. Well,

Brian Nichols
it sounds like and correct me if I'm wrong, Megan, but maybe a lot of the solutions that we see here that you kind of outlined here today. The reason that they're not embraced and the reason they're not promoted, is it because it doesn't sound like they can really maintain this government backed monopoly on the solution. Right

Megan Smith
A Part A large part of it goes back to they're not patentable. And a farmer can't get there, if they can't use their oil based chemicals that turned into pharmaceuticals. If they can't figure out how to synthesize something in nature and mimic it, that's curing cancer and get their hands on the patent, then they're not going to use it. And even when they do, synthesize it and get a patent on it, they've twisted a bond in there and your body doesn't recognize it, as the natural product would. And so you get side effects. So it's not as good for you either. So it there's so many reasons not to do that. Why

Brian Nichols
so like, and this. So this is where people get so mad at government, right? Because we see very, very much so that there are, in this case, there is a solution to cancer, there's a cure to cancer, like, why? It's like the scene and Family Guy was cut away. And he walks in, I think it's like supposed to be stem cell research, and he has stroke and his face is all droopy. And he walks in and walks out. 10 minutes later, he looks fine. He goes, Why aren't we funding this? But seriously, Megan, like, it's not even a matter of funding. It's a matter of like government. Get out of the way, like stop creating these artificial monopolies where Big Pharma entities like like, you know, Pfizer, which is, you know, has a marketing arm that reaches all over the United States, every commercial seems brought to you by Pfizer, heck, even the NFL players are brought to you by Pfizer with Travis Kelce nowadays, but like, I just I look at it. And I know that there's folks in the audience today, their brains are blowing up right now to because to hear you confidently say that we have a cure for cancer on the show. And to the fact that it's not a matter of it just not being embraced, but rather, it's actually being suppressed. It just drives people up a wall. I have a little cousin who has been going through and battling cancer for two plus years. And to think that he could have had two years of his his childhood back for for just government getting out of the way. It just it's maddening. Right,

Megan Smith
and if you just understand that pharmaceuticals make most of their money off of vaccines and chemotherapy. Wow, you're gonna keep Yeah, that's it in a nutshell. When I came across that I was like, well, that's the whole

Brian Nichols
past four years for Copan for

Megan Smith
they're gonna they're not gonna like this film. I don't think they found it yesterday. Don't tell him.

Brian Nichols
But we are you telling me, Meghan, that your show your film is not brought to us by Pfizer? No,

Megan Smith
it's not. There's no advertisements. It's on YouTube, it's free, you can find it at a new standard of care.com. Right now, it's free. And it's on YouTube. But I'm sure at some point is going to be taken down. So if you go to my website, what that I just gave you it whatever platform it's going to be on, I will put it on that website. Now I'm

Brian Nichols
not going to try to ask you to answer this very, very detailed question. In the remaining time we have here but maybe touch on a little bit but like sugar, you said cutting off sugar, and increasing oxygen? Like is it really kind of like that simple it when it comes down to it not just in those two examples, but like when it comes to solving, this is cancer catastrophe we've seen and how really bad it's gotten over the past few decades. Like is this what it just comes down to is diet, you know, environment exercise, like is it just the basics

Megan Smith
largely, you also have to detox the body and but stress is also a big one, you can get cancer just from stress

Brian Nichols
watching. Okay, so wait, tell us about that. Because every every like, you know, worker out there who work you work Busy Bee fatigue syndrome, right? Like, they're probably hearing that they're going, oh, so how does that happen? So

Megan Smith
when you're in a fight or flight adrenaline mode for too long, your cortisol levels get really high, which control all of your other hormones in your body that control your organ functions. And eventually, it's going to attack your mitochondria. And then all heck is gonna break loose. So

Brian Nichols
so just by thinking and putting yourself into that mentality, you can quite literally give yourself cancer. Yeah,

Megan Smith
or another chronic disease, because they're all inflammatory diseases, they suppress the immune system. And I know I didn't know this either. And, you know, meditation, stuff like that. I know, we're all stressed out right now. We got so much coming at us. But meditation, yoga, acupuncture, I mean, there's some things you can do deep breathing, you know, but it's hard. But you got to you got to do it somehow make it make it a priority. See, I had

Brian Nichols
I had a co worker back in the day named Chuck. I know Chuck listens to the show. Hey, Chuck, and, and Chuck had had cancer in his jaw. And this was back in 2015. When I had this conversation with Chuck and Chuck basically told me, he solved his cancer. And Chuck has, I think, like three or four degrees. I'm gonna get a text after this and he's gonna tell me exactly how many degrees he has in biology, chemistry, and he was a personal trainer. And and he basically what you just said Megan, right? Like he cut sugar out entirely from his diet. He started doing a lot more like hyperbaric chambers and like he said he was doing meditating, like three or four times a day he was doing, like coconut polling, I think it was like all these things that I heard. And I'm like, This sounds like white voodoo stuff. It doesn't sound real. And yet, he was cancer free. And he didn't get an you know, a single, single thing of radiation. And for me, that was the first one. I was like, Huh, okay, so maybe there's more to this now, for all the other folks out there who like me nine years ago had that. Hmm. Maybe there's more to this moment on this podcast. Meghan. What would you say to them? Like, what are the action steps that someone should take? If they want to learn more, they really want to start digging into this world beyond obviously watching your awesome documentary. Right? But like, where should folks start to maybe peel back the first layer of the proverbial on your onion here?

Megan Smith
Yeah, it does start with education. mine mine mine film Ty Bollinger there's lots of books on how to eat how to clean up your life. air, food, water. They're all being polluted. Get the stress out of your life. Like I said, watch your sugar intake out green leafy greens, detox your body. There's different ways you can do that. You can research and oxygenate your body go go exercise stop eating McDonald's,

Brian Nichols
which I love. Not food, the stuff that's not really food,

Megan Smith
right canned foods get away from that it's a pain in the rear end to you know, make

Brian Nichols
it how much I mean interrupt, like how much of our our problems we're facing right now are because of this commercialized food system, like the processed foods that I mean, you go into a grocery store, anything that's not on the perimeter of the store, all that garbage in the middle is just that it's garbage. So like, how much is that playing into the increase in in the cancer epidemic? And frankly, is it a matter of just addressing that we're we're gonna see a drastic change in the number of cancer cases,

Megan Smith
that it's huge. If there's like a 20% increase in get your likelihood of getting a cancer if you're obese, which also if you're obese, you're probably not eating the right things, right? Yeah, no, it's largely our food supply. You know, stay away from canned goods, if you can, or organic, get organic, if you're gonna get canned stuff. Organic is really important. It's more important than you think it was explained to me if you put something in that's not organic, and microwave, it turns into free radicals, which are really bad for you turns into poison. It's like and I used to, I used to microwave my dinners all the time. And I'm like, Oh my gosh, so yeah, clean up your food supply. It's the more expensive it is and food's expensive right now. But do what you can it's just it's we're getting attacked from every direction now 5g I mean, I don't have to tell you what's going on out there. Well,

Brian Nichols
we had we had Sonia Gomez on the show back last month actually, I believe it was and she was talking about the food aspect and that's why she is trying to help teach people how to basically create your own little like self sufficient farms right there at home right so how can we avoid this turning into even worse of an issue by looking what we can do right in our own backyard instead of relying on the the big commercialized grocery stores and heck even taking a step back even from there it just to start out go to a farmers market right like start to try to trace back where your foods actually from specifically the more local area you're going to instantly find that the quality is better like I told the story back a few episodes ago I think it was where like I went to a farmers market and I noticed as I was walking up to the the farmer stand that like all the apples were so aroma they you could smell apple and I was just kind of hit me because I'm like, you know, you go to a grocery store. You don't smell the apples, you know, you take a bite of those apples at the grocery store. And there is sweet is all they all get out there full of sugar. But in terms of nutrients, they're they're very much lacking. And if anything, I think that's by design, it's hard to show like even some of the foods we think are good for us actually are now being genetically altered to make them worse versions of themselves which are now impacting us as well. Yeah,

Megan Smith
I mean, if you can clean up your food supply you are what you eat. It kind of goes back to that fundamental statement. Community gardens if you can't afford to do this on your own, get together with your neighbor's organic gardens. It's an effort it's gonna have to be an effort on our part because we're again we're getting attacked on from all sides and our supermarkets are not you know, you get a whole foods I have a whole foods They hardly have any organic. I'm like, Why are you calling yourself Whole Foods? You're not Whole Foods. Now.

Brian Nichols
Well, we got bought by Amazon. And then that probably turned into a much more like dollars and cents versus where it was back with John Mackey. But also, by the way he was he's he is very noted libertarian out there, believe it or not, folks, ya know, John Mackey, from Whole Foods. So, with that being said, one area, I did want to quickly touch on negging that you brought up, and that is the environment. And I moved from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Eastern Indiana. And instantly, right, I instantly noticed my well being drastically being better, like I wasn't breathing, the smog. I wasn't having the noise pollution, the light pollution, and I just felt better. But talk to us more about how much of a role the environment plays when it comes to our health.

Megan Smith
Yeah, it's all it's all connected. It goes again, it's about food, air, water, you have to especially water I mean, there's so much stuff in our water they're finding out now it's scary. I mean, they're finding COVID on our water. They're finding us pharmaceuticals, people dump their their old prescriptions into the toilet, and it gets into our water supply. I mean, how scary is that? So get the cleanest water you can I I don't know if what I'm drinking is best, but I'm trying I'm not taking what's out of the faucet, and then air you can get an air cleaner, a good one and heat the filters and stuff. But no, I mean, our environments, just we need to get back to basics. And I don't know, just do the best you can. It's

Brian Nichols
it's a new standard of care. And yet, it's not. It's It's It's It's the it's the stuff that just makes sense. Right, Megan like, and this is the part I think we see. And this will be my final thoughts. And I'll turn it over to you. We're seeing right now. So many folks at the very least, like they don't necessarily have the answers. But they definitely have the questions. And they're asking the right questions. Finally, it feels like we're finally starting to ask the right questions. And of the questions that I'm hearing time and again, being raised up from people, both in the world of the political machine, but also people just kind of living their lives is it seems like our food, our environment, our medicines, the stuff that is supposed to keep us healthy is actually making us sick. And I'm hearing this more and more. And now it's a chance for us to start talking about Yeah, these new standards of care that actually aren't really new, but presenting them as new work. We talked about The Brian Nichols Show, how do we bring the world of sales to talking about the problems we see out there? And how do we bring the solutions to the table through using the sales methods that we teach in the program to help meet people where they're at specifically on those issues they care about and then not just have a solution that looks great, but actually is something that's tangible? And then they can take away today and say, Yes, I can start implementing this into my life right now. And that is what you're doing. Right. And this is why I love having folks like you in the show. Because it's one thing for us to say here's a problem. And then just That's it. But that's the there's the problem, and not really have a solution. I love solutions. And I our audience embraces solutions. And that's what you're bringing here to the table today is a new standard of care that isn't really new, but really just the common sense way of doing things. So thank you for what you're doing. Thank you for helping raise awareness that yeah, hey, guys, we solve cancer cancers cured. So how about that? Wait, like, let's can Joe Biden stop saying he's gonna cure it? Because we already did it? So Megan has my final thoughts. What do you have for us on your end,

Megan Smith
so both of my my films actually present that boobs, which is, which is about mammography and breast cancer screening,

Brian Nichols
they both the way we should have just started with boobs, because what catches people's attention is by yelling boobs, I mean, so good work there.

Megan Smith
So that talks about what the horrors of mammograms and what we can be doing instead, which is ultrasound and thermography. And you can find it at boobs, Doc docx.com. And then the new standard of care presents what we're doing in you know, in medicine right now and for cancer and what we could be doing and why we're not doing it. And so both of those do present, I wanted to leave people with hope, and not just scare the patootie out of them and leave them hanging with fear. I wanted to give them hope my husband didn't have any hope. He just had fear. And I also I was also scared because I didn't know that much about cancer. But now I have hope. And now I am loaded with all kinds of information. And I talk to my friends about it. And once people see my film, it does send it's turning people around, which I'm so happy about. Megan,

Brian Nichols
I can't thank you enough for joining us today and doing what you're doing fighting the good fight, raising awareness to Yes, a very, very not just important topic, but frankly a topic that has hit every single person I daresay listening to today's episode in some way, shape or form. Brian Nichols
